There was a little girl
who had a little curl
right in the middle of her forehead
when she was good
she was very, very good
but when she was bad, she was horrid William Longfellow
The thing I will first like to comment on is your line technique, the lines are noticeably free hand and are done in brush ( notably by the lack of tapering on the ends of them) I feel in parts this is wonderful and beautiful… the lips are done perfectly like this.. Their sharp crisp bold lines make for a strong contrast to the soft shadings of the airbrushed flesh around the lips..
But in parts of the hair this style of lines looks odd, particularly the lower left hand area of the image. This lines dark lines in the hair that are to high of a contrast in color and tone compared to their counterparts which have a purple shade behind them… which lets the color of the tan lines come out more and makes the contrast more pleasing because it lets you eyes see all the lines… while with out the darker backdrop you eyes only see the black lines..
The next point I want to comment on is the use of airbrushing. The area’s chosen are perfect the choice in color is very appealing to the eyes. And your level of detail with the glare and the eyes are stunning. The way the airbrush seems to follow none of the lines ( which seems like the lines follow the shades) is a great touch… the depth and form of the face are convey in minimal terms which is something I deeply love, as a photographer and poet… I have often said that the perfect piece of work is that which says a million things in only in few lines…. This piece does that…
But there are always things to improve on… if there wasn’t we wouldn’t have thousands of years of artist when we all know someone did it best… there is always somewhere to improve… and with you shading I see one… the face is great its formed perfectly with the shading but one things… the area under her right eye (or the left side of the image) looks odd… and doesn’t seem to form a good shape when the other eye is hidden from sight… it gives a feeling that the girl is transparent and that the color is behind her… this may be what you are after but with the other eye its not like this… the dark and light areas of pink give a perfect form to the cheeks and eyes… I understand that these suggestions can’t really be fixed with out re doing a lot of work… but I give them just inform you on how I see it and how I feel… so that you can better predict the minds of the people you show your work too..
The last point I want to make is on the pose of you model… of all the shots I have seen of your stock work and all the images of your work… this pose is by far my least favorite… for a few of reasons (and please don’t hate me because I am a dick and said I didn’t like the pose)
It doesn’t look organic, it looks forced… the ways the eyes look into the eyes of the viewer makes it feel unreal…
Its holds little feeling to be explored, it simple looks “exotic” , the look doesn’t say anything other then … and I’m sorry for being blunt… doesn’t say anything other then “FUCK ME”… this might just be a matter of opinion… and it might be that I’m male (its said that we think about sex every 6 sec)… and I believe it does effect that… a female who sees this will most likely think differently on the pose… but I can’t say for sure..
Over all, the image is marvelous and I’m jealous beyond measure….now please don’t hate me because I said bad things about your great work of art… : ]

Wow. I love your comment. It actually contains some information.
So.. about the Pose first : Yes, it is kinda forced. That's why you're not going to find exactly that Photo in my Stock Gallery. I do understand what you mean and maybe it really is a question of female/male. Because I do see more than "Fuck me" in that piece. Probably because her mouth is opened and not closed. But that again is a matter of interpretation and stuff. But I do see where your idea comes from..
I'm not sure about the Eye thing going on. What exactly are you talking about? Doesn't the shading fit the natural forms ( bones and stuff ) or what do you mean?
I wasn't going for the "girl = transparent, color = behind her look so I'd like to understand what you meant.
And straight away: I don't re-do any of my pictures. I don't like that unless it's something that really bothers me. But I don't like the idea of working on something while being in an entirely other situation - while drawing that picture I was thinking about a particular situation .. and I don't have the same thoughts about that anymore so I just CAN NOT touch upon it anymore. I do however read your comment, reply to them and take them serious because I'm going to think of what you said while drawing the next picture - so you're not writing this for nothing.
But then again - and it's kinda ridiculous because I do understand the parts in which you say what you like but I do not understand everything you don't like simply because of your expressions / whatever.. haha - I don't quite get what you mean when you were writing about the hair.
" which lets the color of the tan lines come out more and makes the contrast more pleasing because it lets you eyes see all the lines… while with out the darker backdrop you eyes only see the black lines.." that's the part I don't understand. What do you mean? That the lines in the right part of the image shouldn't be black but... ??
the pose... the open mouth says "sex" to me... If it was a closed mouth it be "Suspicious anger" like a women who’s Boyfriend just told her a lie and she saw right through it…
the eye... its not the eye... its the pink shade below the eye... it doesn't seem right... if you used your hand and cover the far eye the nose and mouth and just look at it... it makes it seem odd you don't see cheek in it... you see the lines of a women’s face with color behind it... and that’s just the pink... under the eye... not the pink around it...
the hair... I’m talking about the difference between the hair above the purple area and the hair above the clear area... the ones over the purple i saw two different colors of lines... it was only after i saw it... i looked and saw there were two lines over the area's without the purple... that’s what i mean buy it... (sorry I’m not very clear… it I can’t say it poetic… like a poem.. You really can’t understand… )
and i guess my comments and my view on art is different because of where i came from... i wrote poetry before i ever did a single image... and in poetry when a persons comments on a flaw... its easy to go make and change... and often its 100% better... even if the change is only switching a single word... or deleting an unneeded line... i give my comments in a means that someone can (if they want) go back and change it... in image art its harder to do so.. and i understand... i understood when writing this you would most likely not change this image itself... but i am glad to know that you are thinking about my point of view in your future work... Thanks... and Thanks for letting me share in an expression of yourself...
